The Pittsburgh Pirates were awarded the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft in MLB's inaugural Draft Lottery at the Winter Meetings from San Diego on Tuesday night. The first six spots of next year's first round were determined. The Pirates had the second-worst record in baseball in 2022 and had the best odds of winning the top overall selection, alongside the Washington Nationals and Oakland Athletics. After the Pirates, it will be the Nationals, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins and Athletics. The Twins made the biggest leap of any team from the 13th pick to the fifth. The A's had the toughest luck and dropped from third in the draft to the six spot.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
