This season, however, the Seattle Seahawks signal-caller has completely changed the narrative. Given the chance at the starting job, Smith has made the most of his opportunity.

Halfway through the season, Smith leads the NFL in completion percentage, is fourth in QBR, third in passer rating, and ranks sixth in yards per attempt. The answer is yes, Smith should be on fantasy football rosters.

He has the seventh-most fantasy points at the position, trailing only Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, and Kyler Murray. Let's just say he's keeping pretty good company this season, and if you don't have one of the top-six on this list, go get Smith to be your QB.

Can he lead you to a championship? At the end of the day, you still might not feel great about seeing his name at the top of your roster each week. He's not Allen, and he's certainly not Mahomes. But the numbers don't lie.

Can Geno Smith Lead Your Fantasy Football Team To Glory?

Making a deep run in the fantasy football playoffs requires that your roster has a QB that can produce as part of a dynamic offense. Through nine games, the Seahawks have proven they put up points, averaging nearly 27 per game. Smith has averaged over 20 fantasy points during that span, and much of that is thanks to the weapons that surround him.

The Seahawks' top pass catchers are DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, two of the top wide receivers in the NFL. Smith has leaned on them heavily and will continue to do so as your fantasy team heads down the stretch. He has two very productive tight ends, Will Dissly and Noah Fant, the latter led the team in receiving yards on Sunday with 96. He also has the likely Offensive Rookie of the Year at his disposal, Kenneth Walker III, an explosive running back having a breakout season.

Smith isn't a household name, but if he continues to produce, why would you care?
