The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ receiving corps has had more injury problems than AEW’s pro wrestling roster over the past month.

Chris Godwin missed last week’s game and will miss this week’s as well due to a hamstring injury. Julio Jones is battling a knee injury and looks to be a gametime decision. Mike Evans overcame a calf injury to play Week 2 but has been suspended for this week’s contest. This should shape up to be an ideal fantasy situation for slot receiver Russell Gage. The problem is Gage popped up on the injury report himself after missing practice on Friday with his own hamstring issue.

This leaves fantasy managers in a precarious position heading into the weekend now that he has been given the infamous “questionable” tag for Tampa Bay’s Sunday showdown with the Green Bay Packers. So will Gage be available for fantasy managers? Here is the latest:

Is Russell Gage Healthy or Injured?

As of the writing of this article, all is quiet on the Gage front. No news outlet has reported anything since he was listed as questionable on Friday afternoon. Gage is someone who has been banged-up at times during his NFL career, but he has only missed four games in four-plus seasons. He is not someone who deserves the label of being injury-prone as he has toughed through injuries before even though he is smallish in size.

Will Gage Play in Week 3?

All signs are pointing towards Gage playing. With Tampa Bay depleted at the receiver position, you would think Gage would play unless his leg was about to fall off. He has gotten off to a slow start with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers offense (seven catches for 41 yards) and now has newly-signed veteran Cole Beasley to contend with for slot time, but he could be Brady’s top target this Sunday if he can find the field.

Gage was deemed “questionable” during the opening two weeks of the season because of his hamstring, too, so unless he has severely aggravated his injury in practice, there is no reason to think he will not suit up on Sunday. The bigger question is how productive he will be, since he has been far from productive so far.
