NASCAR Truck Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Atlanta Fr8 208 (3/19/22)

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is back after taking last week off and heads to Atlanta as part of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend.

Last time out, Chandler Smith won at Vegas, which moved him into the points lead over Tanner Gray. Zane Smith, the winner at Daytona, struggled, dropping to 12th in points.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the Fr8 208 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station.

Ross Chastain ($10,700)

Starting 36th

Chastain will be in the 41 truck for Cram in this race and really...I have no idea what to think in terms of the competitiveness of this truck. We haven't seen this team yet this season, and last season this team wasn't super competitive, with the best finish from the 41 coming at Talladega.

But I can't believe Chastain would drive in a truck that wasn't going to at least have some speed. And considering this truck starts 36th, there's a huge amount of place differential upside for this team. Risky play because of truck quality, but one that could pay off big.

Christian Eckes ($9,800)

Starting 16th

Eckes starts 16th in this race, offering some solid place differential upside for a really good driver/team. A crash left Eckes 28th at Vegas, but he led four laps and qualified in the top 10.

Eckes ran just 10 races in 2021, but finished in the top 10 in half of them, with one win and two top fives. He's run at this track once, leading 18 laps in 2020 and finishing third. He should compete for a top five on Saturday. Really love the value/upside mix here.

Corey Heim ($8,500)

Starting 19th

Heim's results in the Truck Series have been a mixed bag, but we have to play a Kyle Busch Motorsports truck that starts this far back, right? I mean...KBM is the best team in the Truck Series and while Heim has no top 10s in his four Truck Series starts, he does only have four starts in the series. Hard to draw too many conclusions from that.

And, I mean...Heim did have 16 top fives in ARCA last year, including wins at Daytona and Talladega. In terms of intermediate tracks, he was third at Kansas, second at Charlotte, and then third at the second Kansas race. Would I feel better about his Truck chances if he had won an intermediate in ARCA? Yep. But I still have to play him some for the upside.

Colby Howard ($7,400)

Starting 26th

Now we get to some more speculative plays.

Howard is running for Bill McAnally this year. This is the first year for the team to run two teams full time, but the 19 of Derek Kraus has been a solid truck over the last couple of seasons.

Howard...well, 2022 hasn't gone well. He's crashed out in both races this year, though he did lead nine laps at Daytona before that happened. He was in the top 15 for four of the 28 laps he ran at Vegas.

Which is to say I think that Howard is in line for a strong season. He's flashed his potential at various times in the Truck Series and Xfinity Series, and I think this is a solid top 20 truck that's just had some really bad races to start the season.

Hailee Deegan ($7,100)

Starting 27th

Like Howard, Deegan's 2022 season has gotten off to a rough start. 17th at Daytona, then crashed early at Vegas and finished 33rd.

But this is a solid race team, and Deegan was on the upswing late in 2021. She was top 20 in the final two races of the season, which was a nice change after she crashed out in the three races before that. I think Deegan should be a solid top 20 driver this season, with a few more trips to the top 10 than she had in 2021. There's some nice place differential upside for this No. 1 truck.

Brennan Poole ($6,400)

Starting 35th

Here's my punt-y play of the week.

Poole is a solid driver. He's in the G2G Racing 47, which...honestly, I don't know how good or bad this team is. The 46 from G2G finished 22nd at Vegas, and a 22nd place finish at this price would be great.

The 47, meanwhile, DNQed at Vegas with Matt Jaskol in the truck and was 34th at Daytona with Johnny Sauter in the truck after an electrical issue led to a DNQ.

So...IDK! The fact that solid drivers like Sauter and Poole drive this truck and that Jaskol finished 22nd in this truck at Vegas are good signs. I wouldn't go heavy on Poole, but he's someone worth considering.
