Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of 41 passes for 318 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while adding 60 yards and a touchdown on six carries in Monday night's 31-28 loss in Jacksonville. Mahomes threw the most times of any game this season and eclipsed 300 yards passing for the first time since Christmas Day last year against the Steelers.

In addition, Mahomes has been running more often and more effectively this season, leading the Chiefs in rushing in three of five games. He's topped 57 rushing yards in three of five games this season after reaching that mark just four times in his career before this year. Mahomes and the Chiefs fell to 2-3, but there are at least some encouraging signs with the offense, and star receiver Rashee Rice will be back from his suspension soon.

Mahomes carries solid QB1 upside in all leagues heading to a potential shootout against the Detroit Lions.

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert had his worst game of the season, completing 22 of 29 passes for 166 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the team's 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders. The offense looked disorganized, burdened by costly penalties and sloppy play for most of the afternoon. Herbert also led the team in rushing with four carries for 60 yards, showing how often he was pressured behind a depleted offensive line.

Herbert has been hit 35 times in the last three games, as a wave of injuries on the offensive line continues to mount. As the team prepares for Week 6 against a struggling Miami Dolphins defense, the Chargers might need to rely more on the passing game since they just placed rookie running back Omarion Hampton (ankle) on IR.

Herbert should have a chance to bounce back against a struggling Miami secondary on Sunday.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says he would classify the Las Vegas Raiders as "mildly concerned" about quarterback Geno Smith's rough start to the season. Fowler adds that there's "no sentiment that Smith is a broken quarterback." Smith is not expected to be benched in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans. Scouts that Fowler has talked with think Smith has "been too late" with the ball and is relying on his arm talent to force footballs into tight windows.

It hasn't been pretty for the veteran QB through five games, as he's thrown six touchdowns and a league-leading nine interceptions. Smith and head coach Pete Carroll have enough equity from their days in Seattle that Carroll "could stick with him a little longer as a result."

With that said, real questions are going to arise about Smith's job status if he cannot get the job done on Sunday against the one-win Titans. He is best to fade in all one-QB leagues in Week 6.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 29 of 33 pass attempts for 379 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 5 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also took one sack and rushed for 15 yards. Mayfield played clean, turnover-free football while maintaining a terrific 87.9 percent completion rate and leading his Bucs to a win.

The 30-year-old has been a top-10 fantasy quarterback once again this season, posting 18+ fantasy points in all five games so far, as well as 23+ fantasy points in three of five. He should continue to be started in all fantasy leagues ahead of next week's game against the San Francisco 49ers as a high-end QB1.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (hip, thumb) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session. Tagovailoa apparently suffered a hip and left thumb injury during last Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. The 27-year-old didn't show any signs of being injured when he threw for 256 yards with three touchdowns.

He's finally starting to turn a page with five touchdowns and zero interceptions over his last two games. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried about Tagovailoa for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. It's the beginning of the week, and the Dolphins are going to be careful, especially with Tagovailoa's injury history.

At the moment, the team has expressed that Tagovailoa will not face any limitations this weekend. As a result, he carries high-end QB2 upside in a matchup against the Chargers.
