Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 5:
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka posted his first career 100-yard game during last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The rookie wideout continued to impress as he hauled in four of his 10 targets for 101 yards and a touchdown last Sunday. The 22-year-old has stepped up and delivered especially with Mike Evans (hamstring) being absent lately. Egbuka figures to continue being a focal point in the offense for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Bucs figure to go with a pass-heavy approach given lead back Bucky Irving (foot) has been ruled out. Egbuka might be able to surpass his season-high 10 targets pretty quick. Fantasy managers should continue plugging Egbuka into their lineups as a WR1.
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (calf) is cleared to suit up for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The rookie wideout was a bit banged up this week, but is fine for this weekend.
It has been a slow start to the season for McMillan. He hauled in four of his eight targets for 62 yards in the loss to the New England Patriots last week. The good news is, McMillan has seen eight targets or more in every game this season. Sadly, McMillan only surpassed 70 receiving yards in a single game once so far.
The Panthers offense isn't clicking right now, which is going to limit McMillan's value. Fantasy managers should consider McMillan a high-end WR3 for this weekend.
Bhayshul Tuten, Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton,
RJ Harvey, RB, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos rookie running back RJ Harvey was able to earn a season-best 41% of snaps in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, this was due to replacing J.K. Dobbins for the majority of the 4th quarter in a blowout win. The rookie running back will look to carve out a role against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
While Harvey will increasingly develop confidence in the coaching staff and through his own experience on the field, it's likely that, barring an injury to Dobbins, he will continue to be a change-of-pace back in closer games. The explosive rookie is developing some standalone value as a flex starter.
Still, Dobbins' strong performances might continue to hold him back from reaching his actual ceiling as a talented 2nd round pick. Harvey is considered a solid FLEX play and is currently RB34 in the latest RotoBaller Week 5 rankings.
Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants
New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has an excellent matchup in Week 5 after a solid NFL debut, where he led the Giants to a 21-18 victory over the Chargers. His dual-threat ability was on full display as he threw for 111 yards and a touchdown while adding 54 yards and another score on the ground.
This week, he faces a Saints defense that, despite being sixth-best in passing yards allowed per game (177.0), has been extremely vulnerable to fantasy quarterbacks, ranking as the 28th-best defense against them by allowing an average of 20.6 fantasy points per game.
New Orleans has surrendered nine passing touchdowns, the second-most in the league, and their 30th-ranked red-zone defense could provide ample scoring opportunities for the rookie.
Elic Ayomanor, WR, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Elic Ayomanor has been one of the few bright spots for this offense through four games. It has been a tough beginning to the season for the Titans offense.
However, Ayomanor has been decent with 12 receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns through four games. The rookie wideout saw seven targets last week, but only hauled in two of them for 44 yards. The Titans offense is a complete mess, but Ayomanor has good upside.
He should be in the conversation as a flex option for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
