Should I Drop Jayden Reed in Fantasy Football?
Packers’ wide receiver Reed had a rough summer heading into the 2025 regular season. A foot injury suffered late into training camp cost him weeks of practice. Eventually, news came out that Reed was planning to play through a Jones fracture to start the season.
Reed was able to provide fantasy production in Week 1 (five targets, three receptions, 45 yards, and a touchdown) despite playing just 37.5% of the team’s offensive snaps. The snap share wasn’t ideal, but the Packers were deliberate in getting him touches on his limited snaps.
Unfortunately, Reed suffered a broken collarbone on an overturned touchdown in the first quarter of Green Bay’s Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The veteran receiver underwent surgery on both his collarbone and foot to simultaneously heal both injuries.
Successful foot & clavicle surgery thank you God 🙏🏾

As of now, the expectation is that Reed will be able to return this season. At the very least, the surgeries will keep him off the field for a minimum of six to eight weeks. If your league has injured reserve spots, he is worth adding there now that he has time to heal from his collarbone and foot injuries. If you don’t have IR spots, it is probably best to move on for now.
Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?
Now that we know that Reed will be off the field for up to two months, it is time to start scouring the waiver wire for replacement receivers. If you want to keep pieces of the Packers offense, both Romeo Doubs (nine targets, five receptions, 96 yards, and a touchdown) and Dontayvion Wicks (eight targets, six receptions, 74 yards) are fine fill-ins. Doubs is a full-time receiver, but Wicks took on the slot role once Reed was injured.
Other options on the waiver wire that are worth considering are Cedric Tillman (15 targets, seven receptions, 74 yards, and two touchdowns) or Wan'Dale Robinson (18 targets, 14 receptions, 197 yards, and one touchdown). Both players have commanded strong target volume and can provide a steady fantasy floor in the future.
