Should I Bench Jayden Reed? Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 15 (2024)

Jayden Reed - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I bench Jayden Reed for fantasy football in Week 15? Is Jayden Reed a safe player to bench? Read Kyle Lindemann's latest fantasy football outlook on Reed.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has been one of the most difficult players from a fantasy perspective in 2024.

Reed has two Top-2 weekly WR finishes in half-PPR formats this year and has an upside as a runner because he occasionally gets manufactured touches in the Packers' offense.

However, Reed was held without a catch in the team's Week 14 contest against the Detroit Lions and finished with a whopping zero points in fantasy, leading to much frustration from fantasy players. So, should you bench Reed here in Week 15? Let's dive in below!

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Bench Jayden Reed in Fantasy Football?

The game splits from Reed tell us the story of everything we need to know about him and how he has been used this season.

In the Packers' four losses, Reed has averaged 17.1 fantasy points per game in half-PPR formats, including his goose egg from Week 14. In the Packers nine wins, Reed has averaged just 8.6 fantasy points per game. Quite a difference!

What made Week 14 even more frustrating from a fantasy perspective was that Reed saw just one target in the game while fellow teammate Romeo Doubs (concussion) was sidelined with an injury, and the Packers still managed to score 31 points!

Who Should I Pickup in Week 15 Fantasy Football?

The volatility surrounding Reed this season has undoubtedly been a tough roller coaster ride. He's been the definition of a "better in best ball" type of play, and it's led many fantasy players to question whether or not Reed should be benched in Week 15.

You definitely don't want to cut Reed for another player at this point, but if you'd prefer to keep him on your bench in Week 15, that's more than understandable.

The Seahawks defense has become a much more improved unit throughout the season, and Doubs has been cleared from the concussion protocol. Given the fact that Reed is competing for targets with Christian Watson, Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and Tucker Kraft, this is a difficult decision, even though quarterback Jordan Love has been cooking lately.

Reed has just one game all season where he's been above six targets and has routinely logged between 50-59 percent of the team's offensive snaps, which means that his ability to pay off for fantasy comes down to his ability to generate big plays and long touchdowns.

Reed is a volatile, low-end WR3 with upside against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15, and whether or not he is in your lineup all comes down to your personal risk tolerance, but the general advice is to sit him in just about all formats in Week 15.
