2 weeks agoChicago White Sox outfielder/first baseman Andrew Vaughn joined in on the fun when his team clubbed five home runs in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians, going 1-for-3 with a solo homer of his own. It was his 16th this season, and he now has 69 RBI and 57 runs over 119 games. Vaughn has more power than he's shown thus far in his career, but the sophomore has displayed his hitting ability, batting .290. There hasn't been much talk of the 24-year-old, but his numbers look good in any fantasy lineup.--Spencer Seguin - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
2 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn played an important role in Sunday's 8-2 win against the Texas Rangers, going 3-for-5 with a two-run home run. It was just his second home run in his last 16 games and his 11th of the season, which isn't that impressive given his power potential. However, Vaughn's still having a solid season, slashing .298/.349/.464 with 43 runs and 52 RBI across 86 games. The 24-year-old has value in every format with those numbers but is a better player in dynasty leagues, assuming he finds his power stroke at some point.--Spencer Seguin - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
2 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn is not part of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. AJ Pollock and Gavin Sheets will be the team's corner outfielders for the game. White Sox manager Tony La Russa stated prior to the game that Vaughn's day off was recommended by trainers, though he didn't provide any details as to why it was recommended. However, La Russa did add that Vaughn would be available to pinch hit for the game. The 24-year-old has had a strong year at the plate, slashing .298/.345/.462 with 10 home runs, 49 RBI and 38 runs across 75 games. It seems likely that he'll be back in the starting lineup on Monday.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: James Fegan
2 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn enjoyed a big game Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBI in an 11-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Vaughn has slashed .393/.433/.679 over his last seven games with multi-hit performances in each of his last four. He now has 10 home runs, 36 runs scored and 48 RBI on the year. With an .820 OPS this season, Vaughn is already returning considerable value for fantasy managers, and he appears poised to improve in the years to come.--Doug Goldring - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
3 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder/first baseman Andrew Vaughn (illness) will remain out of the lineup Friday, but is feeling better and could pinch-hit. Vaughn missed Thursday's game with the illness and is not feeling good enough to return tonight in a starting role. He will likely return over the next few days. The 24-year-old is having a decent sophomore campaign, batting .298 with eight home runs. He has improved in almost every area since last year, which is a great sign for a young prospect like Vaughn. Hopefully, he can keep improving and become the legitimate stud that his prospect profile said he could be.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: James Fegan
3 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn (illness) is feeling under the weather on Thursday, which is why he's out of the starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers, according to manager Tony La Russa. Fantasy managers should take Vaughn out of their lineups and consider him day-to-day for Friday's contest. The 24-year-old has been great in his second big-league season, hitting .298/.346/.455 with an .800 OPS, eight home runs, 38 RBI and 29 runs scored in 266 plate appearances over 62 games. Gavin Sheets will serve as the team's designated hitter and bat seventh on Thursday against Tigers right-hander Beau Brieske. Sheets has hit just .228 on the year with five home runs, but he's gone 13-for-43 (.302) with a home run and seven RBI in 13 games over the last two weeks.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - James Fegan
3 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn is absent from the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Jose Abreu will be taking over at first base for the contest. Vaughn had a big game in the team's series finale against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. He went 2-for-5 and hit his eighth home run of the year in the contest. The 24-year-old has had a solid season overall thus far. Across 62 games, he's slashed .298/.346/.455 with eight home runs, 38 RBI and 29 runs.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
3 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. It looks like a routine rest day for Vaughn, but he was dealing with a leg issue last week. Gavin Sheets will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth against right-hander Shohei Ohtani on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option than Sheets here. Vaughn has been crushing the ball and should be in the lineup for their next contest.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
3 months agoChicago White Sox first baseman/outfielder Andrew Vaughn (leg) is dealing with leg soreness that has limited him to playing first base and serving as the team's primary designated hitter across the last six games. According to White Sox manager Tony La Russa, "when you see him running, if he's not running as hard as you think he could, it's because he's been told play under control, play under control. If he were 100% legs, he'd be in right field again instead of first base. The good news for fantasy managers is that Vaughn has remained in the lineup despite dealing with leg soreness. The 24-year-old has recently been locked in at the plate, collecting multi-hit efforts in six of his last nine games. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Vaughn while he's wielding a hot bat.--Brad Camara - RotoBallerSource: Scott Merkin of MLB.com
3 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn continued to produce at the plate in Monday's 8-7 win over the Blue Jays. The 24-year-old went 4-for-4 with two singles, a double, a two-run home run, and four RBI. He has become a fantasy asset the season with regular playing time and is now slashing .330/.381/.505 with seven HR and 31 RBI in 202 plate appearances. He is currently rostered in just 61 percent of leagues and is worth a look for fantasy managers in need of a boost to their lineup.--Connelly Doan - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
3 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn had three hits across six at-bats in Wednesday's 13-0 blowout against the Detroit Tigers. He doubled, scored a run, and struck out once. Vaughn's having a solid sophomore season in 2022, slashing .315/.370/.485 with six home runs, 29 RBI, and 18 runs over 44 games. After inconsistent playing time in 2021, he's been on the lineup card on a daily basis this year and should continue to provide fantasy managers with a lot of offensive production.--Spencer Seguin - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
4 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn picked up a career-high five RBI on Thursday night, although it wasn't nearly enough as his club fell to the Red Sox 16-7. The 24-year-old came up to the plate in the third with the bases loaded and then cleared them with a double to right before following that up with a two-run homer off of Michael Wacha in the fifth to chase him from the contest. Vaughn batted out of the two-hole in the lineup for the second game in a row and could get more looks there moving forward after tonight's productive game. He's up to a .292/.349/.500 slash line with five homers, 19 RBI, and 11 runs through 28 games and should be rostered in all formats.--Riley Mrack - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
5 months agoThe Chicago White Sox activated outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) from the 10-day injured list on Friday. In a corresponding move, starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was placed on the COVID-19 injured list. Giolito reportedly began experiencing symptoms earlier this week and the expectation is that he will be able to return to the team at some point next week. Vaughn, meanwhile, had been out since late April due to a bruised right hand. He played in two rehab games at Triple-A and homered twice in the second of the two games. We expect him to be in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Gerrit Cole and the New York Yankees.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: Chicago White Sox
5 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) had a big game at the plate in his second rehab game at Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday. He went 2-for-3 with two home runs, two walks and three runs scored in the game. Vaughn is eligible to return from the injured list any day now, and after Thursday's performance, we'd expect his return to be very soon. The 24-year-old has been on the shelf since late April due to a bruised hand. He was swinging the bat well prior to the injury, with four home runs and a .283/.367/.566 slash line over 16 games.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com
5 months agoChicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hand) is not expected to be activated from the injured list on Thursday in time for the game against the New York Yankees on the first day that he's eligible to return. Vaughn has been sidelined since May 2 due to a bruised hand, but he will get a few more minor league rehab at-bats with Triple-A Charlotte before rejoining the team this weekend. The 24-year-old right-handed hitter will return to being an everyday outfielder for the White Sox when he's eventually activated. Vaughn was slashing .283/.367/.566 with a .933 OPS, four home runs, 12 RBI and five runs scored in 16 games before landing on the injured list. If he's somehow available on your league's waiver wire, scoop him up now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB Network - Jon Morosi
