Corbin Carroll to Take Dry Swings on Tuesday
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll (wrist) will start taking dry swings on Tuesday, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Carroll was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 24 with a chip fracture in his left wrist. While it's a good sign that he's already going to start swinging a bat this week, the 24-year-old former National League Rookie of the Year still has a ways to go and isn't going to be ready to rejoin the big-league roster when the second half of the season kicks off on July 18. The former first-rounder should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues as one of the best all-around fantasy assets in the game. Before his injury, he was slashing .255/.341/.573 with a .914 OPS, 20 home runs, 44 RBI, 57 runs and 10 steals in 286 at-bats. Randal Grichuk and Jake McCarthy will platoon in right field in the desert until Carroll returns.
