Matt Wallace a Boom-or-Bust Option at Rocket Classic
Matt Wallace has been the definition of boom-or-bust this season with six top-26 finishes in 14 starts, but he has also recorded seven missed cuts. He’ll look to carry over momentum from the Travelers Championship, where he finished T23, into the Rocket Classic. He has competed at Detroit Golf Club four times, continuing his all-or-nothing trend with results of a missed cut, T78, T10, and T12 over the past four years. The course typically rewards strong tee-to-green play and driving distance, which should align well with Wallace’s strengths. He ranks 38th in strokes gained from tee to green (plus-0.592 per round), 65th in driving distance, and first on tour in strokes gained around the green (plus-0.715). His weaknesses lie in approach play (minus-0.119) and putting, where he ranks 135th (minus-0.201). Wallace remains a volatile option, but with momentum on his side, he could offer a strong return on investment at just $7,500 on DraftKings.
