Yoan Moncada Beginning Rehab Assignment
Yoan Moncada (knee) has been taking batting practice from the left side and taking part in on-field baseball activities. He left for Arizona on Sunday to start a minor-league rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, according to MLB.com. Moncada was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 2 with right-knee inflammation but could return before the mid-July All-Star break as long as he doesn't have a setback on his rehab assignment. The 30-year-old veteran switch-hitter continues to deal with injuries and just hasn't been reliable for fantasy managers outside of infield depth in AL-only leagues. He's gone 23-for-97 (.237) in his first year with the Halos with six home runs, 19 RBI and 16 runs scored. When Moncada returns, he should see plenty of playing time at third base alongside Luis Rengifo.
