Michael Brennan's Win Gets Him Into This Week in Memphis
It was a better late than never scenario last week for Michael Brennan, who stormed up the leaderboard on Sunday to win the final regular-season event. It was the third week in a row that a player under the age of 25 has won on the PGA Tour. After finishing T24 and T15 the two weeks before coming to Greensboro, the Wake Forrest alum started the climb before his first career victory vaulted him all the way inside the top 50 on the FedEx Cup list. He's shown plenty of strokes gained approach and putting ability over the three weeks, averaging 1.31 on approach and 1.55 with the flat stick. Brennan's length off the tee is impressive, but he's tended to be more than wayward at times. Overcoming that around TPC Southwind is much more testing than other spots he's seen this year, but any amount of fantasy interest that comes his way is completely warranted.

Min Woo Lee Returns to Action at FedEx St. Jude Championship
Min Woo Lee took a few weeks off after the Open Championship. The Australian golfer followed up a runner-up at the Genesis Scottish Open with a less-than-stellar Major (T-59). Lee is inside the Top 20 in the FedEx Cup rankings so there is less pressure to advance. Points carry over from the regular season at the first two playoff events. Lee could be an intriguing choice for DFS purposes at the beginning and end of this event. He ranks inside the Top 25 in putts per round for Round 1 and Round 4 (15th and 24th). His birdie or better percentage ranks 11th at 34.86%. Memphis can yield birdies in bunches at times even at a Par-70 of 7,220 yards. Lee being well-rested can help especially this week.

Max Homa Attempts to Stay in the Playoffs at Memphis
Max Homa has only played five events since the end of May in 2026. The American golfer did play four times in July including an impressive runner-up result at the John Deere Classic. That was enough to pretty much clinch a playoff spot. However, Homa is now on the bubble with only the Top 50 advancing to next week's BMW Championship. He does have a T-6 result in 2023 but three of his previous four efforts were outside the Top 40 (missed 2025). Little went right as Homa missed the cut at the 3M Open. Driving distance and accuracy have been lacking over the past three events (-12% accuracy in Minnesota). Homa getting the fade from a betting and DFS perspective should not be surprising.

Jordan Smith Has Nothing to Lose at FedEx St. Jude Championship
Jordan Smith appeared out of the playoffs after missing the cut at the RBC Canadian Open. The English golfer went back overseas and found his form. Five straight Top 40 results including a T-14 at the Wyndham Championship clinched a playoff spot. The concern with Smith is he has one Top 10 result in 2026. He needs a T-9 to have any chance of advancing to the BMW Championship (Top 50 move on). Smith has gained at least one stroke to putting in three of his previous four events. Furthermore, the Englishman has driven the ball around six yards above average with double-digit accuracy in four of his five previous tournaments. Smith has little pressure which makes him a betting flier to ponder.

Michael Kim Needs to Rebound from Wyndham Championship
Michael Kim knows his margin for error is very low. The American golfer, at a minimum, needs to finish in a three-way tie for 12th to have a chance at advancing from Memphis. Given the level of this field, that will be a challenge. Kim has three Top 10 results in 2026. He did have two Top 10 efforts before ending up outside the Top 50 last week. Kim could not make birdies unlike the previous two weeks (gained 1.56 and 0.93 strokes respectively). He needs a huge week and considering his putting ranks, Kim must approach greens better. His greens in regulation ranks just 146th at 63.99%. It may be why Kim has become a choice to fade ultimately from a betting perspective in Memphis.

Ben Griffin Losing Form Heading into the Playoffs
Ben Griffin could not have picked a worse time for the putter to abandon him. The American golfer thankfully does not have to worry about the cut this week. This is the first real bad stretch of golf from Griffin since March where he missed three straight cuts. Only 50 golfers advance and Griffin should have enough points to play in the BMW Championship. However, Griffin ended up T-9 in last year's FedEx St. Jude Classic. It was the second of five consecutive Top 12 efforts. The question is which version of Griffin will appear. From a DFS standpoint, Griffin might be an intriguing option for Round 1 given he ranks 7th in putts per opening round at 27.77.

Rickie Fowler Keeps Heat on Heading to Memphis
Rickie Fowler has stayed inside the top 50 in the FedEx Cup rankings. The American golfer has enjoyed a great 2026, complete with five top-10 results. That includes a T8 at the Rocket Classic despite a final-round 70. TPC Southwind in Memphis comes in at 7,220 yards (par 70). Fowler may not drive the ball as long these days, but his accuracy has improved (63.45% - 37th). Overall, the putter has been kinder to Fowler in the last two events. Gaining strokes at Memphis while minimizing putts is essential. Avoiding three-putts could be key, too. Fowler ranks 12th in that metric at 1.85%. Fowler's finish at Memphis in 2025 (T6) might be a harbinger of things to come in 2026 for bettors.

Corey Conners Makes Playoffs Behind Strong June and July Push
Corey Conners was outside the top 70 during the month of June. The Canadian golfer netted four top-25 results after missing the cut at the RBC Canadian Open. Conners finished T7 at the Travelers Championship after a closing 63. For the golfer to advance, he is going to need a strong result at a minimum in Memphis (T14). The last two years have seen Conners struggle at TPC Southwind (T50 both years). The red flag here is the putter (127th in strokes gained at -0.248). He gained strokes putting in five straight events but has lost ground around the green in four of those tournaments. Conners and that urgency could make him volatile from a betting perspective.

Ludvig Aberg Enters the Playoffs Inside the Top 10 at Memphis
Ludvig Aberg has done everything but win in 2026. The Swedish golfer did rank 10th in regular season FedEx Cup points via seven Top 10 results. In 17 events, Aberg finished inside the Top 25 11 times. Aberg has two career PGA Tour victories. He came so close to winning both the FedEx St. Jude Championship and BMW Championship for that matter last year. Aberg wound up T-9 at TPC Southwind in 2025. Aberg's driving ability ranks high at 316.4 yards (17th) and 61.78% accuracy (55th). The longer course suits the Swedish golfer well. He has to be a betting factor and potential DFS option considering there is no cut-line this week.
