Zac Gallen Avoids Arbitration With Diamondbacks
11 months agoRight-hander Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks settled at $10.011 million for the 2024 season to avoid salary arbitration on Thursday, according to a source. Gallen will be in his final year of arbitration eligibility going into next season. The 28-year-old made his first All-Star team in 2023 and went 17-9 with a 3.47 ERA (3.26 FIP) and 1.12 WHIP while walking 47 and striking out a career-high 220 batters in 34 starts covering a career-high 210 innings pitched to eventual lead his team to the World Series. He will remain a front-line rotation option for the Snakes going into his fifth full season with the team. Gallen could carry more injury risk because of his huge jump in workload of the last two seasons, but everything else in his profile is rock-solid, most impressive of which is his pinpoint control.
