Yuli Gurriel In 2-For-29 Drought At The Plate
6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel will look to break out of his current slump when the team opens up a huge series with the Mariners on Monday night. Gurriel has cooled off recently and has only two hits in his last 29 at-bats. The 34-year-old is second on the team with 17 runs batted in during the month of July but is now hitting only .259 over his last 81 at-bats. Gurriel will look to right the ship against Mariners lefty James Paxton Monday night and is slashing .290/.333/.402 against left-handed pitching. For the season Gurriel is slashing .289/.319/.410 with six home runs, 24 doubles and 54 runs batted in through 346 at-bats.
