Yordan Alvarez Out For Health And Safety Reasons
4 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is out of the lineup on Wednesday for "health and safety reasons," according to manager Dusty Baker. Outfielder Michael Brantley is serving as the designated hitter and is batting second against Seattle Mariners right-hander Justin Dunn. Meanwhile, Chas McCormick enters the starting lineup in the seventh spot while playing left field. Stay tuned for more information on Alvarez, but prepare for the possibility that he will need to go on the league's COVID-19 if he tested positive for the virus or came in contact with someone else that tested positive. The 23-year-old left-handed slugger continues to hit the ball, slashing .309/.355/.529 with an .885 OPS, seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and 14 RBI in his first 68 at-bats of the season. Hopefully, he doesn't have to miss much time for the Astros or fantasy managers.
