Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Commits To 2023 Home Run Derby
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has committed to participating in this year's Home Run Derby during All-Star week. Guerrero said he's looking forward to the event and thinks it might even help his swing for the second half of the season. The 24-year-old slugger hit 91 total home runs, including 40 in one round, during the Derby during his rookie season in 2020, but this will be his first time competing in the event since then. He's set to be an All-Star for the third straight season and continues to produce at an elite level for his fantasy managers. Guerrero entered Thursday with a sublime .280/.349/.447 slash line, .796 OPS, 11 home runs, 18 doubles, 49 RBI, three stolen bases and 35 runs scored in 341 plate appearances (78 games).
