Vince Velasquez Struggles In Sunday Start Versus Nats
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez allowed three runs across four innings in a no-decision versus the Nationals on Sunday. Velasquez allowed four hits and a walk, needing 80 pitches to complete four innings. He did pick up four strikeouts and has 52 punch-outs this season in just 43 2/3 innings, but that's where the positives end for the right-hander. Velasquez has a 4.33 ERA this season; according to his FIP (5.56) and xERA (5.02), he's lucky to have that mark. Velasquez will face either the Yankees or Dodgers in his next start. Fantasy managers should avoid either matchup.
