Twins Acquire Enrique Jimenez to Bolster Catching Depth
The Minnesota Twins acquired catcher/first base prospect Enrique Jimenez from the Tigers on Monday in exchange for Chris Paddack. The Twins view Jimenez as a high-floor catching option with potential to impact the major league club in the future. Ranked as the Twins' No. 20 prospect, Jimenez showcases advanced plate discipline, striking out in just 21.9% of his at-bats while walking 12%. Standing at 5'9", Jimenez may not have ideal size but excels defensively, throwing out 33% of base stealers over the past two seasons. He'll provide solid depth for the Twins as he continues to develop.
