Tanner Gordon Strikes Out Five, Picks Up First MLB Win
Tanner Gordon pitched well at home against a potent Yankees lineup on Friday, allowing just two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings of work on the way to earning his first major league win in a 3-2 victory. The righty was recalled from Triple-A to make the start, although he made one start earlier this month as well in which he allowed four earned runs but was able to provide the team with at least six innings in that one, too. We'll see if he sticks around this time, and with Chase Dollander hitting the IL, a spot in the rotation did open up. If the former sixth-round draft pick does get another shot, his turn lines up with the Cubs in Chicago next Wednesday.
