Steven Matz Sent Home Early Tuesday Due To Illness
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Steven Matz was sent home early Tuesday due to an illness. He will miss a bullpen session today but expects to stay on schedule for a Grapefruit League start on Friday. Matz is currently in a competition with Michael Wacha for the Mets fifth rotation spot. Matz has started off strong this spring. If he continues to pitch well, he should win that final rotation spot, making him worth a selection in deep mixed leagues and in NL-only formats. If, however, the Mets opt to use Matz as a relief pitcher or a spot starter, his fantasy value will, accordingly, take a huge hit.
