Starling Marte Back From Injured List
Starling Marte (knee) from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Jared Young to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move. It's unclear if Marte will enter the starting lineup right away for Tuesday's contest against the visiting Los Angeles Angels. The 36-year-old veteran is skipping a minor-league rehab assignment after missing the last two weeks with a bruise in his right knee. Marte will most likely see most of his playing time moving forward out of the DH spot for the Mets, and at this point in his career, he probably shouldn't be counted on as an everyday player. Before his injury, he was batting a solid .270 (44-for-163) but with only four home runs, 20 RBI, 22 runs and five steals. Fantasy managers also can't count on Marte running much anymore.
