Signs Pointing To Derek Carr Starting Against Dolphins
4 years agoAll signs are pointing toward Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (groin) making the start in Week 16 against the Dolphins on Saturday after he didn't show up on the team's final injury report on Thursday. However, head coach Jon Gruden said that he's "not going to let the cat out of the bag" regarding whether Carr will play. Carr got in some full practices this week and Gruden said he's "optimistic" about Carr being active. Even though backup Marcus Mariota replaced Carr last Thursday against the Chargers and looked great, Carr is expected to start this weekend after a miraculous recovery from what looked like a pretty serious groin strain. But with Carr facing a tough Dolphins Defense and at an increased risk of re-injury, he should be avoided in single-QB leagues during championship week.
