Seahawks Sign Gerald Everett, Acquire Gabe Jackson
4 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks signed former Los Angeles Rams tight end Gerald Everett to a one-year deal worth $7 million on Wednesday, according to a source. The deal includes $6 million fully guaranteed. The Seahawks also acquired guard Gabe Jackson from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick. The trade for Jackson leaves Seattle with just three picks in this year's draft. Everett gives quarterback Russell Wilson another weapon alongside DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. The 29-year-old Jackson has two years and just under $19.2 million left on the $55 million extension he signed in 2017. Everett will reunite with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron from their time with the Rams. He had a career-best season in 2020, catching 41 passes for 417 yards and a touchdowns, and Everett will join a tight end group that features Will Dissly, Colby Parkinson and Tyler Mabry.
