Saints Sign Nick Vannett
4 years agoThe New Orleans Saints signed free-agent tight end Nick Vannett to an undisclosed three-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Vannett was released by the Denver Broncos the other day and finds a new home quickly. He has great size and agility at the position, but the Saints will be his fourth team in the league in just his sixth NFL season. In 15 games for Denver last year, the 28-year-old from Ohio State had 14 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Veteran Jared Cook is no longer with New Orleans, but Adam Trautman is expected to be their primary pass-catching tight end in 2021. Garrett Griffin and Ethan Wolf are the other two tight ends on roster. Unless Trautman is injured or loses the No. 1 spot on the tight end depth chart, Vannett will continue to be ignored in fantasy.
