Ryan Yarbrough’s Return Uncertain, Could Toss Soon
Ryan Yarbrough (oblique) has yet to resume throwing as he works his way back from the injured list. Out since June 20, there is still no clear timetable for his return. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Yarbrough is "getting over the hump" and could begin a throwing program soon. It's another blow to a Yankees rotation already hit hard by injuries. Yarbrough owns a 3.90 ERA this season, along with a solid 21.7% strikeout rate and a 7.5% walk rate. Once healthy, Yarbrough is expected to return in a bullpen role with the possibility of spot starts. The impending return of Luis Gil (lat) further limits Yarbrough's fantasy upside in the short term.
