Roberto Perez Has Mild Concussion
6 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez (head) was diagnosed with a "mild concussion" after he left the game early on Tuesday with a head injury, according to manager Terry Francona. Perez took a foul ball off his mask in the third inning. Francona said the team will bring up catcher Eric Haase from Triple-A Columbus, but will wait to see if they need to put Perez on the seven-day concussion injured list. Haase is hitting .252 (22-for-107) with a team-high 11 homers and 19 RBI in 29 games on the farm. Perez is hitting just .228 (23-for-101) with six home runs and 14 RBI on the season. Kevin Plawecki will be the primary catcher until Perez is ready.
