Quinn Priester Making Another Start Wednesday
8 months agoPittsburgh Pirates right-hander Quinn Priester will get another start on Wednesday to face the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. Priester will get another shot at it for Pittsburgh despite allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits (three home runs) with one walk in 4 1/3 innings in his season debut last Friday against the Boston Red Sox. The 23-year-old is going to need to do better this week against a tough Brewers lineup if he wants any chance of remaining in the Pirates' rotation moving forward. The former 18th overall pick in 2019 out of high school just hasn't been very good so far in the big leagues, dating back to his debut in 2023, as he's gone 3-4 with a 7.79 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 28 walks and 38 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings over 11 outings (nine starts).
