Petr Mrazek was expendable in Carolina and that was good news for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Mrazek signed a three-year contract with an AAV of $3.8 million. This will be to serve as a backup for starter, Jack Campbell. Mrazek has been one of the better goaltenders in the league the past couple of seasons. Injuries hampered his 2021 campaign as he appeared in just 12 games. Despite that, he produced six wins, a 2.06 goals-against-average and a .923 save percentage. This included three shutouts. He had ten in his Carolina career where he played in 92 contests. Mrazek can be a bit adventurous in the net but should be able to spell Campbell for 30-35 games in Toronto next season. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
