1 year agoSan Francisco Giants rookie catcher Patrick Bailey is not in the starting lineup on Saturday for the contest against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Blake Sabol is doing the catching and will bat in the nine-hole for the Gigantes. Bailey will most certainly be in the team's lineup for Game 2 on Saturday. The 24-year-old switch-hitting backstop has hit .248/.305/.386 with seven home runs, 17 doubles, a triple, 46 RBI and 28 runs scored in 317 plate appearances in his first 86 major-league games in 2023. He recently returned from a stint on the concussion injured list and has gone just 3-for-22 with an RBI and 11 strikeouts in seven games (six starts) in September.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
