The Carolina Panthers have requested permission to interview Jacksonville Jaguars passing-game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter for their offensive coordinator opening, according to a source. The Panthers have also added Detroit Lions assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley to their staff, and although his title is not known, he clearly wasn't hired as the offensive coordinator. The last two years, Cooter has worked with coaches who are connected to Panthers head coach Frank Reich. Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson and Reich coached together with the Philadelphia Eagles and won Super Bowl LI. Cooter worked as a consultant for the Eagles under Nick Sirianni in 2021. He has experience calling plays for the Detroit Lions from 2016-18.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
