Washington Capitals forward Pierre-Luc Dubois (lower body) is facing a lengthy absence. On Monday, Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery told reporters that Dubois is going to miss "an extended period of time." The 27-year-old was initially labeled as day-to-day after he suffered a lower-body injury in Friday's loss to the New York Islanders. Dubois also missed time earlier in the season and has appeared in only six games. Despite being a top-six piece and a regular on the power play, Dubois has yet to register any points. St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas (upper body) is ready to return from a four-game absence on Monday against the Edmonton Oilers. The Blues lost Thomas to an upper-body injury just as he had started to heat up after a quiet beginning to the season. Thomas has collected at least one point in each of his past three outings, scoring six points (one goal, five assists) overall in eight games this season. On Monday, he'll be on the first line with Pavel Buchnevich and Jimmy Snuggerud, while also logging time on the first power-play unit. Kurashev picked up his helper 49 seconds into the second period when Jeff Skinner scored. Last week, Kurashev was one of the hottest forwards in the National Hockey League, scoring multiple points in three consecutive games. Before he heated up, Kurashev had only one point for the season, so his current performance levels are unsustainable. But he's an intriguing fantasy option in his current form, playing on a team that has averaged 3.8 goals over its last five games.
