Bhayshul Tuten Needs to Improve Pass Protection
Bhayshul Tuten was one of the fastest players in the 2025 NFL draft and ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at the scouting combine, which was the fastest among RBs. Tuten has often been compared to Miami's De'Von Achane for his home run ability. However, he's on the small side at 5-foot-9 and 209 pounds, and head coach Liam Coen said that Tuten needs to improve in pass protection as he heads into his first year in the NFL. Barring a significant change in training camp and the preseason, Travis Etienne Jr. is expected to remain the team's starting back. The 23-year-old had 1,159 yards and 15 touchdowns in 183 rushing yards last year at Virginia Tech. He's raw and needs to improve his ball security and pass protection, but his elite speed could get him on the field sooner than later in Jacksonville.Source: Jacksonville Florida Times-Union - Demetrius Harvey
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Rickie Fowler Looking to Rebound at John Deere Classic
Source: PGA Tour
Rickie Fowler missed the cut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, carding seven bogeys and finishing four strokes off the cut line. It was just his second missed cut of the season, and he'll tee it up this week at the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2010. To succeed at TPC Deere Run, players need to be solid from tee to green and accurate off the tee. Fowler currently ranks 102nd in strokes gained from tee to green (minus-0.028 per round), 65th off the tee (plus-0.162), and 51st in driving accuracy. He also ranks in the 68th percentile in proximity from 100–150 yards, a key range that accounted for 34.2% of all approach shots here last year. Fowler's ability to bounce back will be tested this week, and at $8,000 on DraftKings, he's a bit of a gamble with decent upside.Yoshinobu Yamamoto Tallies Eight Strikeouts on Tuesday
Yoshinobu Yamamoto (8-6) was fantastic again on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox. In a dream matchup, he went seven innings, allowed three hits, one earned run, and tallied eight punchouts. In this outing, he fired 98 pitches, 65 of them being strikes, with his only blemish being a two-out RBI double by Lenyn Sosa. The outing lowered his season ERA to 2.51 as he continues to make a case as a candidate to win the NL Cy Young Award. On the season, he has thrown 92 ⅔ innings with an impressive 109:32 K: BB and a 1.01 WHIP to go with his stellar ERA. Next up for Yamamoto is a road start against the Milwaukee Brewers next Monday.Source: ESPN
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Cameron Champ a Volatile Option at John Deere Classic
Source: PGA Tour
Cameron Champ put together a strong performance at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, posting rounds of 68-69-66-68 to finish T17. This marks his second consecutive top-20 finish, and he'll look to carry that momentum into the John Deere Classic, an event he has played five times, making just two cuts and finishing inside the top 50 only once. To succeed at TPC Deere Run, players need to be solid from tee to green and accurate off the tee. Champ finds the fairway at a 67.50% clip while gaining 0.673 strokes from tee to green and 0.871 strokes off the tee. However, he ranks in just the 28th percentile in proximity from 100–150 yards, a key range that accounted for 34.2% of all approach shots here last year. At $7,200 on DraftKings, Champ's recent form may make him a popular pick, but given his limited success at this course and a made-cut rate of just 57.1% this season, he remains one of the more volatile options in the field.Garrett Mitchell has Successful Shoulder Surgery

Brandon Woodruff Likely to Pitch on Sunday in Miami
Brandon Woodruff (elbow) appears to have completed his rehab assignment and is expected to start this weekend in Miami against the Marlins. According to Curt Hogg, beat writer for the Brewers, "Pencil in your calendars: Brandon Woodruff "looks like" he will pitch in Miami on Sunday, Pat Murphy said. Woodruff will take the mound in the same ballpark as his previous appearance. Woodruff has not pitched since 2023, and after a minor setback in early June during a rehab start when a comebacker hit him, he appears ready to make his first start of the season with the Brewers. Fantasy managers may want to temper expectations right away, but it's hard not to be excited about Woodruff returning to the mound. He owns a career 3.10 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 28.9 percent strikeout rate in 680 1/3 innings pitched. At this point, it's unclear whether the Brewers will adopt a six-man rotation or if they will replace someone in their rotation.Source: Curt Hogg
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Rhys Hoskins Out of the Lineup in Game 1 of Doubleheader
Rhys Hoskins will take a seat in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the New York Mets. The Mets will deploy right-hander Clay Holmes on the mound in Game 1 and the less experienced Blade Tidwell in Game 2. Left-handed hitting Jake Bauers will start at first base in Game 1 in place of Hoskins. Look for Hoskins to re-enter the lineup for Game 2. He is slashing .238/.334/.418 on the season with 12 home runs, 41 RBI, and 29 runs scored. Him sitting Game 1 is likely due to the nature of having two games on Wednesday.Source: Milwaukee Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Marcell Ozuna Deals With Cramping on Tuesday, Should be in the Lineup Wednesday
Marcell Ozuna was cramping on Tuesday and should play on Wednesday. Even if his hip is no longer an issue, there's reason to at least occasionally sit him and have either Drake Baldwin or Sean Murphy fill the designated hitter role, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports. Ozuna played through some cramping in Tuesday's contest and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, and should continue to occupy the designated hitter role in the Braves' lineup on Wednesday. Snitker may be suggesting that it's possible Ozuna may sit occasionally moving forward, allowing others to be integrated into the lineup. On the season, Ozuna is slashing .244/.369/.392 with 11 home runs, 40 RBI, and 25 runs scored.Source: Mark Bowman
Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that Jacob Wilson Out of Lineup Again on Wednesday
Jacob Wilson (hamstring) will miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays as he battles hamstring soreness. Max Schuemann will take his place at short and bat ninth. Wilson has not yet been placed on the injured list, so the team hopes he can return on Friday when the Athletics begin a series at home against the San Francisco Giants. He's been one of the best sources of batting average in baseball this season, hitting .339 in 343 plate appearances with a minuscule 7.6% strikeout rate.Source: MLB.com - Martin Gallegos
Athletics shortstop Nolan Arenado Out of Lineup on Wednesday
Nolan Arenado (finger) will miss his second consecutive game on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates as he battles a finger injury. Thomas Saggese will take his place at third base and bat sixth today after Nolan Gorman started at the hot corner Tuesday night. Arenado sprained his right index finger over the weekend, but the team still hopes he can avoid an IL stint. The Cardinals have an off day on Thursday before beginning a crucial three-game set at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs over the weekend.Source: The Athletic - Katie Woo
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Willson Contreras Out of Lineup on Wednesday
Willson Contreras (hand/wrist) will sit out the final game of his team's three-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon. This is an expected absence after Contreras was hit by a pitch on Tuesday night. Thankfully for him and the team X-rays on the injury came back clean. The Cardinals have an off day on Thursday before a crucial three-game series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs, so the hope is surely that Contreras can return at some point this weekend. Alec Burleson is starting at first base in his place in Wednesday’s contest against Pittsburgh.Source: Katie Woo - The Athletic
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Emmet Sheehan to Start for Dodgers on Sunday?
Emmet Sheehan may be in line for a big-league start on Sunday, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. Plunkett previously reported on June 28 that Sheehan's next start would be for Triple-A Oklahoma City, so this would be a change of plans for the team. Sheehan has made one appearance for the Dodgers this year, throwing four innings against the San Diego Padres on June 18 and allowing one run while recording six strikeouts. The 25-year-old has spent most of 2025 in the minors as he works his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in May of 2024. His 4.58 ERA in 17 2/3 (five starts) at Triple-A is middling, but the underlying numbers are far more promising. Sheehan has struck out 42.5% of the batters he's faced and holds a ridiculous 39.7% K-BB%. He could be a very interesting pickup in fantasy should he secure a rotation spot with the Dodgers.Source: Bill Plunkett - Orange County Register
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Dane Dunning Recalled by Rangers
Dane Dunning was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. Dunning has spent most of 2025 in the Minors, pitching to a 4.47 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 49 strikeouts in 46 1/3 IP (11 starts). He is replacing right-hander Cole Winn on the Rangers active roster, and figures to take over Winn's role in long relief. In a hybrid starter/reliever role with Texas in 2024, Dunning pitched 95 innings and recorded a 5.31 ERA, 1.44, and 91:40 K:BB. He should not figure in fantasy unless he finds his way into the starting rotation, and even then Dunning would be a streaming option in deep leagues at best.Source: Texas Rangers PR
Texas Rangers right-hander Connor Thomas Set to Undergo Elbow Surgery
Connor Thomas (elbow) is set to undergo surgery in mid-July to remove a loose body in his pitching elbow. According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, the possibility of Tommy John surgery is still on the table for Thomas, so it appears this will be an extended absence for the 27-year-old. Thomas made his major league debut with the Brewers this season, throwing 5 1/3 innings with a 20.25 ERA and 2.63 WHIP. This elbow injury is a tough break for Thomas, as he toiled in the St. Louis Cardinals' farm system from 2019-2024 before finally getting his shot this year in Milwaukee.Source: MLB.com - Adam McCalvy
Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Blake Perkins Nearing a Return to the Brewers
Blake Perkins (shin) is scheduled to play all nine innings for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday and Wednesday before being ready to come off the injured list, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports. The outfielder fractured his shin in late February and has spent the season so far on the injured list. Last season for the Brewers, the speedy outfielder slashed .240/.316/.322 with six home runs, 54 runs scored, 43 RBI, and 23 stolen bases. Perkins is a difference-maker for the Brewers defensively and on the basepaths and could be a good source of steals in category leagues. Otherwise, he does not provide much offensively in the average, slugging, or OPS departments, as his career slash line is .234/.318/.337 across all levels.Source: Adam McCalvy
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Manuel Rodriguez Throws a Bullpen Session on Tuesday
Manuel Rodriguez (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, MLB.com reports. The bullpen session reportedly went well, and this was a good step in Rodriguez's return to the Rays' bullpen. Back on June 10, his elbow was sore after recording three outs on June 9. Imaging showed slight inflammation due to fatigue. Considering the bullpen session on Tuesday went well, it's possible that a rehab assignment could follow soon. However, the Rays have not yet reported on what that might look like. Rodriguez currently owns a rock-solid 2.08 ERA in 30 1/3 innings pitched with a 7.42 K/9, 1.78 BB/9, and a 1.05 WHIP.Source: MLB.
Tampa Bay Rays reliever Tyler Mahle Transferred to the 60-Day Injured List
Tyler Mahle (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Texas Rangers PR reports. The veteran right-hander has already been ruled out through the July 31 trade deadline due to the injury, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline much. Mahle will be eligible for reinstatement in mid-August. However, it's unclear if he'll be ready to return at that point, considering he has yet to resume any baseball activities thus far. Mahle has had a long history of injuries over his career, so fantasy managers may want to consider dropping him if they need to make room on their roster. Mahle has been surprisingly good in 2025 with a 6-3 record and a 2.34 ERA in 77 innings pitched. Kumar Rocker continues to take his spot in the rotation in the meantime.Source: TXRangersPR
Texas Rangers right-hander X-Rays on Willsonn Contreras' Hand Come Back Structurally Clean
Willson Contreras (hand) underwent X-rays, and the team has diagnosed him with bruising. The X-rays did not show any fracture. He is being called "day-to-day," Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Contreras got hit in the hand by a Paul Skenes fastball in the fourth inning of Tuesday's contest and left the game. The good news is that there appears to be no structural damage, and the plan is to rest and allow the bruising to subside before returning to action. The Cardinals wrap up their three-game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday with an off day on Thursday before a weekend series against the division-rival Chicago Cubs. Garrett Hampson entered the game at first base in Contreras' absence.Source: Derrick Goold
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Shane McClanahan Throws a Full Intensity Bullpen Tuesday
Shane McClanahan (triceps) threw a full-intensity bullpen session Tuesday, MLB.com reports. He is expected to throw at least one more time before either increasing his workload in the bullpen or progressing to facing live hitters in some capacity. The Rays reported that the session went well, but no further details were offered. At this time, it appears that the Rays and McClanahan are still targeting a mid-to-late August return date, but this will be dependent on his progress. Fantasy managers will want to keep tabs on what his next steps are. However, at this point, his potential return date is right around the end of the regular season in fantasy baseball, so at best, he will only provide your team with two to five starts, and that's if your team makes it to championship weekend.Source: MLB.com
Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Nick Yorke Goes Deep, Tallies Four RBI on Tuesday
Nick Yorke went 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run during their contest against Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday evening. In this contest, Yorke scored one run and brought in four. Over his last 14 games, Yorke has been one of the most productive hitters at Triple-A, boasting a .310/.385/.500 slash line with two triples, two home runs, and 14 RBI. Through 65 total games with Indianapolis this season, the No. 6-ranked prospect in the system has held a .279/.348/.397 line. Last summer, Yorke received a brief taste of the majors and tallied eight hits across 11 games. If Yorke continues to produce at this level at Triple-A, he should be in contention to return to Pittsburgh in the second half of the season.Source: MiLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates first base prospect Trevor Harrison Extends Shutout Streak
Trevor Harrison extended his shutout streak during his latest start on Tuesday evening against Low-A Myrtle Beach. In this outing, Harrison tossed seven shutout frames with just five hits and two walks. He struck out five. In his previous outing, Harrison logged six shutout frames with no hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts. However, prior to this recent stretch, Harrison allowed six runs (five earned) and 11 hits over his last 9 2/3 innings. Through 67 1/3 total innings at Low-A this season, the No. 11-ranked prospect in the system has held his own, posting a 2.81 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP. During this stretch, Harrison has struck out 60 batters while allowing 34 walks. The 19-year-old could be in the mix to earn a taste of High-A later this summer.Source: MiLB.com
Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitching prospect Jonathon Long Goes Deep on Tuesday
Jonathon Long went 2-for-5 with a home run during their contest against Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday evening. This was Long's 10th long ball of the campaign. Over his previous 11 contests, Long has posted a strong .325/.413/.425 slash line with a double and a home run. The 23-year-old made his Triple-A debut at the start of the campaign and has looked the part, posting a .313/.391/.473 slash line. He has tallied 11 doubles and shown a strong eye at the plate, holding a 56:35 K:BB. Last summer, Long spent time between High-A and Double-A, posting a cumulative .283/.391/.461 slash line with 21 doubles and 17 home runs. If Long can continue to produce at Iowa, he should be in the mix to join the major league roster during the stretch run.Source: MiLB.com
Chicago Cubs first base prospect Joe Mack Hits Two Home Runs, Extends Hitting Streak to Seven Games
Joe Mack continued to swing a hot bat during their contest against Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday evening. In this contest, Mack went 4-for-4 at the dish with two long balls, three runs, and four RBI. This impressive performance also extended his current hitting streak to seven games. During this surge at the plate, the backstop has hit five home runs. However, before this impressive streak, Mack posted a modest .125/.196/.125 line through his previous 13 games at Triple-Jacksonville. Overall, throughout his first 51 games at the top level of the minor leagues, the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system has posted a .262/.324/.419 slash line with seven home runs. If Mack can continue this impressive power surge, he could reach the majors in the second half.Source: MiLB.com
Miami Marlins catching prospect Carter Jensen Launches Two Home Runs
Carter Jensen went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during their contest against Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday evening. Jensen was recently promoted to Triple-A Omaha. Throughout his first five games at the level, Jensen went 1-for-22 at the plate with a home run. However, on Tuesday, he was able to not only post his first multi-hit game at the level, but also his first multi-home run at the level. The No. 3-ranked prospect in the Kansas City system opened the campaign with Double-A and looked quite comfortable during this stint. Through 68 games, the backstop posted a strong .292/.360/.420 line with nine doubles and six long balls. If Jensen can continue to turn the corner at Triple-A, he could reach the majors later in the regular season.Source: MiLB.com
Kansas City Royals catching prospect Keagan Gillies Promoted to Triple-A Norfolk
Keagan Gillies to Triple-A Norfolk. Gillies was recently selected to participate in the All-Star Futures Game and will now be just one stop away from the major leagues. Gillies has been one of the most dominant relievers at Double-A through the first half of the campaign. Through 31 1/3 innings, Gillies has posted a stellar 1.15 ERA with a 0.57 WHIP. During this stretch, he has tallied eight saves and held a 34:3 K:BB. This is an excellent sign as Gillies struggled at Double-A last season, posting a higher 4.94 ERA with a 1.42 WHIP. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he may be in the mix to join Baltimore in the second half. When he does get the call, he could eventually find a role as a high-leverage relief option.Source: Roch Kubatko
The Baltimore Orioles are promoting right-handed pitching prospect Staying Below 70 is Key to Success for Jackson Suber
Source: PGATour.com
Jackson Suber has put his golf game back together the last two events. The young American golfer is only 25 but has back-to-back Top 20 results. Suber also has netted eight straight rounds in the 60's. He did have three weeks between events in June which seemed to help his performance. Anyway, Suber has played 16 tournaments in 2025 with making and missing the cut eight times each. He finished -20 at the Rocket Classic which was tied for sixth. The concern is when adversity hits. Suber is a streaky golfer and that was punctuated by four missed cuts in a five event run that included a 77-75 at the Valero Texas Open. TPC Deere Run is a course set up for lower scoring and staying below 70 will be vital to Suber's bottom line. Kevin Roy Playing Better Heading into John Deere Classic
Source: PGATour.com
Kevin Roy picked the right time to improve his numbers. The American golfer is playing some of his best golf of 2025 right now. He comes off his first Top 10 since March at the Puerto Rico Open. Roy finished T-8 at the Rocket Classic last week behind an opening 62 and a closing 67. Making the most of those birdie chances is essential at TPC Deere Run. No golfer has shot worse than -18 and won since 2008. Putting is usually below average for Roy but his last five starts have seen notable improvements in strokes gained (0.379 compared to 0.03). He avoids bogeys at a great rate (12.37%) and that ranks fourth on the PGA Tour. It is why Roy may be a reasonable option for betting and DFS platforms. Justin Lower Hoping for Something Positive in Illinois
Source: PGATour.com
Justin Lower is almost infamous for what happened at the U.S. Open in June. The American golfer went 83-84 and missed the cut. It was tied for the second worst score of the week at Oakmont. Since then, Lower did improve at the Rocket Classic finishing T-46. He made the most birdies in stroke play since The American Express in January. Lower ranks 74th in putting at 0.095 strokes gained. His one putt percentage rolls in at 62nd (40.81%). Lower's ability to make birdies surfaces on less challenging courses like the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Yes, that resulted in his second Top 10 of the season but it was not a solo event. However, Lower has the ability to be a daily fantasy factor if he can string holes together like he did at The American Express in January.Ben Kohles a Long Shot at John Deere Classic
Source: PGATour.com
Ben Kohles has probably not put together four solid rounds in 2025. The American golfer last shot -10 or better at the Puerto Rico Open in March. An expected winning score would be around -20 this week at the John Deere Classic. Kohles has missed more cuts (9) than he has made (8). However, too many putting numbers raise major red flags. He averages 29.69 putts per second round and then 29.63 for the third. Also, his 29.43% birdie or better conversion percentage ranks 136th. Even putting from inside 10 feet (85.67% - 162nd) has been an adventure. Kohles can make the shorter putts but to be near contention, he needs to make more of them. Stephan Jaeger Attempts to Stop Roller-Coaster Ride
Source: PGATour.com
Stephan Jaeger has been up-and-down the past six events. The German golfer has alternated good performances with bad. This includes a T-7 at the Truist Championship. However, three of his worst results from 2025 have come in the last six events (T-70 and two missed cuts). Jaeger last appeared at the Quad Cities course in 2023 and posted a solid T-13. He shot all four rounds in the 60's. The problem is trying to gauge which Jaeger will show up at the event. Last week at the Rocket Classic, he missed the cut after a Friday 72 where several easier putts just would not go in the hole. The key may be that driving accuracy which has dipped to 52.75% - 160th on tour. If Jaeger can hit more fairways, his DFS chances improve.
