Mason Rudolph Has Up-And-Down Showing Against Buccaneers
Mason Rudolph completed three of his five pass attempts for 46 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a 17-14 preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also added seven rushing yards on one carry. Rudolph began his second straight exhibition start on a sour note when an underthrown pass to receiver Roman Wilson was picked off on Pittsburgh's opening drive. He bounced back later in the first quarter, connecting with Wilson on a perfect 42-yard strike over the middle of the field. Just three plays later, Rudolph hit wideout Brandon Johnson in the end zone from two yards out. The 30-year-old appears locked in as the Steelers' QB2 behind Aaron Rodgers, while rookie Will Howard (finger) continues to recover from a broken finger sustained earlier this month. The Carolina Panthers are on tap for Rudolph's final audition before the regular season.
