Jake Elliott impressed in his season debut, going perfect for the game by making his sole field goal attempt of 58 yards and all three of his extra points. In Week 2 Elliott will travel to Kansas City for a matchup against the Chiefs, who allowed 27 points to the Chargers last week in a loss. The Chiefs gave up five scores on seven drives-excluding the final time Los Angeles had the ball when they ran the clock out. Facing a weak defense and having long range, Elliott should remain in fantasy lineups this week.

Atlanta Falcons quarterback
Michael Penix Jr. performed well in Week 1, completing 27 of 42 passes for 298 yards and a touchdown without throwing an interception, while also adding six rushes for 21 yards and a score. In Week 2, he'll have a road matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, who were tough against the run last season, allowing the second-fewest rush yards per game (93.2), and who only allowed 61 rush yards to non-quarterbacks in Week 1. It likely means the Falcons will lean on the pass again in this matchup, and the 25-year-old will have a full complement of receivers as
Drake London (shoulder) and
Darnell Mooney (shoulder) were both full participants in practice on Friday. The Vikings defense will be without a couple of pieces on Sunday, namely Andrew Van Ginkel (concussion), who nearly led the team in sacks in 2024 with 11.5, so the former first-round draft pick shapes up as a mid-range QB2 this week whose arrow is pointing up.

Kylen Granson could see an uptick in targets in Week 2 with
Dallas Goedert (knee) officially being ruled out. In Philly's season opener against the Cowboys, Granson was the only other tight end besides Goedert to tally any targets, though it was just one which resulted in a one-yard catch. The Eagles' other option as a replacement is former sixth-round draft pick
Grant Calcaterra, who did see more snaps (37) last week than Granson (17). With uncertainty at the position, neither of Philadelphia's backups seem like reliable fantasy options this week against Kansas City. Only consider them for deeper leagues.

Darius Cooper failed to get any targets in the opening game of the season against the Cowboys. While Cooper did have a solid preseason showing against the Bengals, he was bound to struggle for looks in the regular season with the amount of talent surrounding him. He is currently listed as the fifth wideout on the Philly depth chart and was on the field for only two offensive snaps in Week 1. In an upcoming faceoff against the Chiefs, this undrafted rookie will likely have a similar workload. Cooper isn't worth looking at in fantasy for Week 2.

DeVonta Smith fell victim to a strange week for the Philadelphia passing game against the Cowboys, being targeted just three times for three catches and 16 yards.
Saquon Barkley and
Dallas Goedert led the team in targets in Week 1, and
Jahan Dotson had the most receiving yards in what was a bit of an anomaly. Philly will likely get back to their normal ways eventually, which favors Smith in this upcoming contest against the Chiefs as the Eagles' typical second option in the passing game. In their Super Bowl LIX clash, Smith led his team in receiving yards (69) and caught a touchdown against Kansas City. He's a player that's known to be up-and-down in fantasy, so managers have to bank on this being an up week for Smith in a favorable matchup-especially with Goedert (knee) being unavailable. The Chiefs let the Chargers pass all over them last Friday, so Smith is a solid WR2 for Week 2 in hopes that his offense can do something similar.

A.J. Brown had fantasy managers second-guessing whether they should have taken him so high in their drafts with his performance against the Cowboys, hauling in just one catch for eight yards on one target. However, with the Chiefs on the horizon in Week 2, Brown looks to cement his spot once again as the top wideout in Philly's offense. Kansas City allowed four players to achieve 50 or more receiving yards last week against the Chargers, and Brown caught a touchdown last time he faced off against this defense in Super Bowl LIX. He's due for a bounceback showing, and despite his lack of looks in Week 1, Brown is still a WR1 in fantasy.

The Philadelphia Eagles just traded for
Tank Bigsby on Monday, and the former Jaguar is currently listed as the third running back on the depth chart. He was far outpaced by
Travis Etienne Jr. in Jacksonville's first game, and was splitting touches with
Bhayshul Tuten as well. Bigsby only managed 12 yards on five carries against the Panthers in Week 1, which clearly didn't impress the Jaguars front office enough to keep him on the roster. Eagles backup RB
Will Shipley (rib) is officially out for the upcoming contest against Kansas City, clearing the runway a bit for Bigsby, but probably not enough for any real fantasy production. Shipley and
AJ Dillon combined for 13 snaps on offense against Dallas last week, while
Saquon Barkley totaled 50. With a star like Barkley ahead of him, Bigsby should not be considered for lineups in Week 2.

He also made PPR managers happy with his four receptions on five targets-both good for second-most on the team. In Week 2 Barkley faces a Chiefs defense that held
Omarion Hampton to just 48 yards on 15 attempts last Friday, but that was a rookie, and this is Saquon Barkley. After leading Philly in targets and receptions in their last meeting against Kansas City in the Super Bowl, expect Barkley to have a prominent role in the passing game again this week. He's a top-tier RB1 as per usual.

Jalen Hurts looks to speed past another defense this week as he faces the Chiefs at Arrowhead. Hurts led his team on the ground last week, racking up 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts. Justin Herbert do basically whatever he wanted, as he threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns in a Chargers win. All signs point to Hurts being poised for a big game on Sunday, especially in what could turn into a high-scoring, revenge-fueled matchup. He remains a top option at his position in fantasy for Week 2.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' defense was surprisingly vulnerable last week, surrendering 32 points and 394 yards of offense to the New York Jets. Pittsburgh may not be as strong defensively as it was expected to be this season, but it still has plenty of potential as a fantasy D/ST against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Seattle only managed 13 points in its home opener and turned the ball over twice. The Steelers' defense performed far better at home than on the road in 2024, making this matchup at Acrisure Stadium all the more appealing. It is worth noting that Pittsburgh will be without safety DeShon Elliott (knee) and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring), but newcomer Jabril Peppers may get some run in their absence despite joining the team just a few days ago. With playmakers such as T.J. Watt and Jalen Ramsey leading the way, the Steelers D/ST can remain in fantasy lineups on Sunday.

Christian McCaffrey is not listed on the team's final injury report for Week 2. McCaffrey did not practice on Wednesday with his injury description listed as both calf and resting, but practiced in full on Thursday and Friday. Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver
Tyquan Thornton had two catches for 41 yards in the Week 1 loss to the Chargers. With
Xavier Worthy (shoulder), who was injured early in the opener, doubtful for the Week 2 Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles, there is room for others to benefit.
Marquise Brown, who had 10 catches (16 targets) for 99 yards against Los Angeles, has the best chance of remaining the No. 1 wideout.
Travis Kelce should also continue to get attention from
Patrick Mahomes. With that in mind, Mahomes can spread the ball around, so it's hard to predict if Thornton will stay involved enough to justify his presence in fantasy lineups. Although the 25-year-old should have a role in Week 2, fantasy managers will be rolling the dice if utilizing his services for streaming purposes against Philly.

Chris Boswell picked up right where he left off in 2024, drilling two field goals and four extra points. Most notably, he set a franchise record with a 60-yarder that gave Pittsburgh a 34-32 lead with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter. Boswell will look to carry this momentum into a Week 2 meeting with the Seattle Seahawks, who fared well against fantasy kickers last season. Despite the matchup and modest projected point total, Boswell's consistency keeps him in play as a reliable starter across all formats.

Baltimore Ravens tight end
Mark Andrews had only one catch for five yards in the upset loss to the Bills. While that statistical line was disappointing, his one target was even more troubling for fantasy managers. Fresh off a loss, Baltimore will look to pick up a win over the Browns in Week 2. Andrews has played extremely well versus Cleveland throughout his career (14 games), totaling 59 catches for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns. Still, after a disastrous Week 1 effort, he's hard to trust, especially with so many options on the offensive side of the ball for the Ravens. Without question, Andrews can get hot, so there's rarely a time when he isn't featured in a fantasy lineup. However, there is some risk involved, which is something fantasy managers need to consider.

Pat Freiermuth saw three targets last week and will look to build on his chemistry with quarterback
Aaron Rodgers in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle was middle-of-the-road against opposing tight ends last season, but surrendered plenty of fantasy points to the position in its season opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for Freiermuth, new addition
Jonnu Smith appears to have a more significant role in Pittsburgh's offense. Smith led the Steelers' tight end room in snaps, targets, and receptions in Week 1. Freiermuth has proven to be a productive player over his five-year career, so while he is sure to have some big games this season, it will be difficult to predict them so long as the team's weapons stay healthy. He should be rostered in dynasty formats, but Freiermuth can remain on waiver wires in most redraft leagues.
