Packers Expect Aaron Jones Back In 2023
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that he expects running back Aaron Jones to return in 2023, but he didn't rule out restructuring Jones' contract like they've done with a lot of players to reduce his salary cap hit. The Packers have the option of opting out of the 28-year-old's deal for next season, but it appears they want him back if they can agree to restructure. In his sixth year with the team, Jones carried the ball 213 times for 1,121 yards and a career-low two touchdowns, but he also added a career-high 59 catches (72 targets) for 395 yards and five more TDs in 17 games. It was his third 1,000-yard season, and he finished as the RB10 in half-point PPR scoring. As long as quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns in 2023 as well, Jones should be treated as a solid low-end RB1/high-end RB2.
