Packers Comfortable With Jordan Love As Starter
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said he would "absolutely" be comfortable if quarterback Jordan Love were to start for the team in Week 1 of the 2023 season, despite the fact that Love hasn't played consistent meaningful snaps in his first three NFL seasons. "I think he's ready to play and I think he's ready to be an NFL starting quarterback," Gutekunst said. The Packers traded up four spots in the first round in 2020 to draft Love with four years remaining on Aaron Rodgers' contract. The 24-year-old Love has played in 10 games (one start) since being drafted in 2020. If Rodgers retires or ends up being traded, Love will take over as the unquestioned starter in Green Bay, making him an interesting backup QB in fantasy.
