Oswaldo Cabrera Placed On 10-Day Injured List With Fractured Ankle
Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle) on the 10-day injured list with a left-ankle fracture and reinstated infielder DJ LeMahieu (calf) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. Cabrera suffered the injury while running the bases in Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners and had to be taken off the field via ambulance, so fantasy managers shouldn't be all that surprised that he sustained a serious injury. There's no timeline for the 26-year-old's return, but he'll be facing an extended absence and likely won't be able to return until the second half of the season. With both Cabrera and Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) now out, both LeMahieu and rookie Jorbit Vivas should see regular playing time moving forward in the Bronx. The switch-hitting Cabrera was hitting .243/.322/.308 with a homer, 11 RBI and 17 runs as New York's primary third baseman.
