Nacho Alvarez Jr. Begins Rehab Assignment with FCL Braves
Nacho Alvarez Jr. (wrist) began a rehab assignment with the FCL Braves on Monday. The 22-year-old has been out of action all year with wrist inflammation, so it could take some time to get ramped up. Once his rehab is complete, he'll likely head to Triple-A with designs on making it back to the majors. The Braves' top offensive prospect (third overall) made a debut in 2024, but went just 3-for-30 (.100) in his brief stay with the big league club. The former fifth-round draft pick slashed .297/.398/.463 with 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases over 64 games at Triple-A last year. The power surge at Triple-A was a bit of a surprise after hitting zero home runs in 48 games at Double-A, so that shouldn't be something fantasy managers should expect when he makes it back to the Braves, but he makes excellent contact and has the ability to steal bases, so he could become a stash candidate later this season.
