Mitch Farris Could Start for Angels on Tuesday
Mitch Farris to start Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. The Angels need starting help after optioning Jack Kochanowicz to Triple-A and placing Tyler Anderson (oblique) on the 15-day injured list. That may lead them to Farris, who does not rank among MLB Pipeline's top 30 Angels prospects. The 24-year-old has thrown 116 innings in Double-A ball this season and recorded a 4.27 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP and 142:55 K:BB. Those aren't great numbers, though Farris has been far better in his past four starts, having put up a 1.52 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 23 2/3 frames. That stellar production could earn Farris a promotion in the next couple of days.
