Mike Clevinger Heading To Extended Spring Training
Mike Clevinger (back) threw 35 pitches on Friday and is heading to extended spring training to ramp up his activities before beginning a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old right-hander hadn't allowed an earned run in his two starts this year while striking out 22 in 12 innings before his injury. Clevinger has fantasy ace potential when he's healthy, so he shouldn't be available on any waiver wires. Barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment, the right-hander should be ready to return around the middle of June.
