Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the New York Mets have talked to the Pittsburgh Pirates about outfielder Andrew McCutchen. No deal is close and Rosenthal reports that the Mets may look at free agency over trading for a player that would cost them depth. McCutchen has also been linked to the Giants this offseason.
