Max Scherzer On Track In His Rehab
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer (oblique) is on track in his rehab from an oblique strain. "He's doing fine. Who knows what he's doing away from the field," manager Buck Showalter joked. "He's probably had four or five sides by now. He's probably got the whole neighborhood hitting off of him." Scherzer typically recovers from injuries faster than expected, but the Mets probably won't rush the three-time Cy Young winner back into their rotation. The 37-year-old right-hander could come off the injured list in early July, but we'll keep you posted as more details emerge about his rehab process. Before his injury, Scherzer was 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 59 strikeouts and 11 walks in 49 2/3 innings over his first eight starts in New York.
