Lucas Giolito Tabbed For Game 1 Against A's
4 years agoChicago White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito has been named the team's starter for Game 1 of the wild-card series against the A's on Tuesday. Giolito finished the regular season in style, striking out 11 while giving up two runs over six innings against the Indians last Wednesday. The 26-year-old had a strong 2020 season, going 4-3 with a 3.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 97 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings. Oakland is a tough matchup on the road, but Giolito can dominate any lineup when he's on his game, especially in a pitcher-friendly park.
