Brandon Nimmo Back for Series Opener Against Phillies
Brandon Nimmo (neck) is starting in left field and will bat sixth for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez at Citi Field. It will be the first time that Nimmo has started for the Mets since he exited last Wednesday's loss to the Washington Nationals with neck stiffness. However, the 32-year-old veteran did serve as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Braves and will return to begin the week for the start of a crucial divisional series. Nimmo has hit a nice .308 with two RBI and a .708 OPS in 13 career at-bats against Sanchez, but it's probably a left-lefty matchup fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will want to avoid. Nimmo has hit .236 (33-for-140) on the year against lefties with only six of his 20 home runs and a 37:11 K:BB in 158 plate appearances.
