Masyn Winn Back in Action on Monday
Masyn Winn (knee) is starting at shortstop and will hit second for Monday's series opener at Busch Stadium against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Johan Oviedo. Winn had an MRI exam on his sore left knee on Sunday and didn't play in the series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays, but apparently he received good news and is back on the field for the start of a new week. The 23-year-old has only faced Oviedo twice in his career and has one hit. The former second-round pick in 2020 by St. Louis has a current season slash line of .258/.314/.378 with a below-average .692 OPS, nine home runs, nine stolen bases, 46 RBI and 66 runs in 445 at-bats as the team's starting shortstop. Winn will attempt to turn things around after a tough April that has seen him go 15-for-75 (.200) with two homres, three doubles, seven RBI, three steals and 19 K's in 19 games.
