Kumar Rocker Optioned to Triple-A
Kumar Rocker has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday. This seemed likely to happen after the Rangers acquired Merrill Kelly at the trade deadline. Rocker was having a tough time adjusting to the big leagues with a 5.74 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and a 56/23 K/BB ratio across 14 starts. Hopefully, Rocker will be able to work out his issues in the minors. In a corresponding move, relievers Danny Coulombe and Phil Maton have been added to the active roster. It's unclear when or if Rocker is going to return to Arlington this season.
