Julio Urias Gets $14.25 Million To Avoid Arbitration
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers and left-handed starting pitcher Julio Urias agreed to a one-year, $14.25 million deal to avoid salary arbitration on Friday. The 26-year-old southpaw deserves the big raise after another excellent season for the Dodgers in 2022. Urias went 17-7 with a league-best 2.16 ERA (3.71 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and 24.1 percent strikeout rate in 175 innings over 31 starts. He also led the league with a 194 ERA+ and finished third in the National League Cy Young voting. After two straight strong seasons for the Blue, Urias is locked in as a low-end fantasy ace/high-end No. 2 for the 2023 season.
