Jose Siri Transferred to 60-Day Injured List
Jose Siri (leg) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. The team also selected the contract of outfielder Travis Jankowski from Triple-A Syracuse after Sunday's game. Siri is dealing with a fractured left tibia and remains shut down from baseball activities, meaning he isn't particularly close to returning to the big-league roster. He won't be back before the mid-July All-Star break, and it's possible that his absence stretches into August. The 29-year-old Dominican outfielder had just one hit in 20 at-bats with an RBI, two steals and five runs scored before his injury. When Siri does return to the Mets, he's most likely to serve as a backup option and late-game defensive replacement in center field. Siri will be a bench option in NL-only leagues when he's fully healed.
