Jose Leclerc Removed From Game Monday
6 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Jose Leclerc (shoulder), who wasn't available on Sunday due to shoulder stiffness that manager Chris Woodward says was minor, was pulled from the game with an apparent injury on Monday. Leclerc allowed two hits (one homer) and two earned runs while walking none and striking out two in two-thirds of an inning against the Mariners before departing. It raises his ERA to 5.48 on the season, but he still has an impressive 14.77 K/9 in his 21 1/3 frames. Just when there had been some talk of Leclerc potentially regaining ninth-inning duties from Shawn Kelley, he gets hurt. Stay tuned for more news on Leclerc's specific injury, but it looks like Kelley may have a longer leash now.
